COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (ANS) -- The Internet is becoming a powerful evangelistic tool, and Global Media Outreach reaches people all over the world for Jesus, at their point of need. GMO is seeing over 1 million people on average per month make a commitment to Christ with many signing for follow up discipleship. | Logo | Their mission is simple: To use the Internet to reach people for Christ. When people find a website like www.Jesus2020.com, they receive a gospel message and can connect to an online missionary who is there to give love and support, share the Gospel, and answer questions. When Joni and Friends first approached me about being an online missionary, I was skeptical. Me in evangelism ministry? It's not my gift. But I was at a point in my ministry where I'd try just about anything to get out of a funk. |

Following the quake, MAF coordinated transportation for hundreds of aid workers and tons of cargo. | John Boyd, President of MAF, is a former MAF pilot in Haiti. (Photo courtesy MAF). | Since then, MAF has worked with hundreds of agencies and the UN to help rebuild Haiti. MAF President, John Boyd, himself, has served in Haiti as an MAF pilot. While MAF has been ministering in Haiti since 1986, it is currently at the center of disaster relief efforts and is now coordinating rebuilding efforts with other ministries, NGOs and the U.N. The recent six-month anniversary of the catastrophic 7.0 earthquake has brought Haiti back into to the news again. But much of the post-quake information -- both negative and positive -- has been overlooked by the mainstream media. Mission Aviation Fellowship and its president, are in a unique position to provide accurate, insightful updates on the Haiti situation like few other organizations, says a media release from the ministry . The release says there are many compelling reasons why the American public should continue to support the Haiti rebuilding effort. JERUSALEM, ISRAEL (ANS) -- Hebrew University has announced today (Monday, July 26, 2010) the discovery of a law code written on fragments of cuneiform tablets dating to the 17th or 18th century BC. | A fragment of a clay tablet unearthed in Israel is shown in this archaeological photo. The tablet has fragments of a law code that resemble portions of the famous Code of Hammurabi. (Source: Hebrew University of Jerusalem via Bloomberg) | The code, which parallels portions of the famous Code of Hammurabi, was found on fragments discovered during Hebrew University of Jerusalem archaeological excavations this summer at Tel Hazor in northern Israel. The code was written in Akkadian and refers to issues of personal injury law relating to slaves and masters similar to the famous Babylonian Hammurabi Code of the 18th century BC. Hammurabi's Code, a set of ancient laws, created in 1790 BC in ancient Babylon and enacted by the sixth Babylonian king, Hammurabi, consists of 282 laws. In the Hazor code, the laws also reflect Biblical principles such as "a tooth for tooth," the researchers said. Prof. Wayne Horowitz of the Hebrew University Institute of Archaeology said that so far, words such as "master," "slave," and possibly the word for "tooth," have been deciphered. |
