We cannot be ostriches and bury our heads in the sand – denying the fact that as a nation we are is in trouble. We are in trouble as a people, and we are definitely in trouble with God. It is not a pretty thing to fall out of grace with God – and the consequences are even more horrendous. This week, as the crime rate spirals out of control, one keeps hearing this word "fear". How can we keep living in fear? The other cry is: We need solutions. Who is going to be brave enough to step out? Yes, Commission Thomas made a start this week by admitting that there are dirty cops in the force, but what is he going to do about it. "We have criminals among us. It is not only corporals, sergeants and inspectors, it goes all the way up," Commissioner Thomas said. Rank Structure of the Establishment Strength It did not take much digging to get the names of some of the dirty cops and exactly what they are involved in. The question is: Who in their right mind is going to release such a list even with evidence knowing that might be the last thing that one does before seeing Jesus and hearing "well done you good and faithful servant." The thing about being a martyr is you don’t get to see if the sacrifice was worth it. On the other hand, how does one sleep at night knowing that the very persons that one has seen on TV making bold statements that criminals are going to be brought to justice are working hand-to-hand with the criminals in another capacity. "Can you imagine a police officer giving some men he knows in the underworld a box of 15 9mm rounds of ammunition?" the commissioner asked cops at recent meeting. "Do you know what those ammunition are used for? And the point that hurts is that when some of our members are killed, and we go deep down to ask the question, those same rounds that an officer gave to that criminal took that policeman's life." Experience has shown that courage is not a quality that exists in many Jamaicans when faced with the wrath of the Freemasons: gunmen, politicians and Church leaders. "Do you know that some of our members have moved over to being drug players and control the turf ... run the business? They recruit drug couriers, load them and send them away. Police officers! Police officers!" the commissioner stressed. LOVE Herald’s first headline in April 2001 was ‘Undercover in the pulpit’ and the time is fast approaching when Commissioner Thomas’s statement can be applied to the Church. Pastors! Pastors! In fact, the day has already arrived when pastors are crying out "why don’t they leave Satan alone". When Satan has the church trembling at the TVJ and CVM news we are in trouble. "The majority of us who are innocent suffer the consequences of the few people among us who have destroyed us," said the commissioner, adding that the trust and confidence the public should have in the police will be difficult to restore. "It is very, very difficult to bring them back, but good will always conquer evil." The confidence that people had in the Church was already on shaky ground. The inertia that still exists has pulled the ground from beneath her feet. The prophets – Jeanne Dixon, Phillip Phinn, Hazel Salmon, Michelle Williams, Steve Lyston, Doris Hutchinson, Mary Wildish, Peter Green, Maria Harabajan – who have said consistently over the years that God is going to judge Jamaica if we do not repent and that He is starting with the church, are all shaking their heads. However, one must end on a positive note and that can be taken from the Word of God "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." As always tempered with love If you are numbered amongst those who are willing to stand up for the truth cost it what it will, please write Some of those marked in bold are criminals and need to be removed now!
